This report summarizes the LAC methodology, including recent modifications, and how it and the Recreation Opportunity Spectrum (ROS) can be applied to Fort San Lorenzo, a Spanish-colonial World Heritage Site at the mouth of the Chagres River on the Caribbean coast of Panama. Suggested indicators include trash, visitor safety, visitor satisfaction, crowding, vandalism, scenic overflights, and human waste. A simplified version of LAC is recommended, including selection of indicators, development of baseline data, establishing minimally acceptable levels for each indicator, and identification of management actions to bring conditions up to minimum standards.
