PowerPoint Presentation on Shifting Cultivation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
This presentation was prepared for and delivered at the Annual Conference for the International Society of Tropical Foresters (ISTF) in January 2013. It presented preliminary findings and analysis of an ongoing FCMC study on Shifting Cultivation, Deforestation, Gender and REDD+ in Central Africa, based upon an initial field trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Jacques Pollini, the lead FCMC consultant undertaking the study, discussed contrasting views of development and how REDD+ might better fit into the existing forestry and agricultural practices.
